Metal
Today I painted new letters onto a Steinway B from 1927 that had just been refinished. It is a fucking gorgeous piano. Steinways are great, and this is a great Steinway. So I got some India ink (contains shellac) and a fine brush and spent 5 hours delicately not fucking up a 45 thousand dollar piano. I think it looks good. Some technicians who have this done call in an `artist`. In da house yo.

Better you'll never get to know me
To start the day
make ghetto folk art. And all you have to do is turn the can upside down and spray until no paint comes out and your nozzles won`t get clogged. new to me.

Lunchtime! Today I was feeling eating a sandwich from 7/11, and there was too much pita for one girl. I`m talking much too much. I rearranged the pieces to prove it.

Afternoon delight. Next door chinese and philipino catering service pig truck day.

Bad piano, nice font.

Then it`s time to stop by the law offices of law & office

Check your scrabictionary, eaqwaiterr is by definition, a 10 letter word used mainly in scrabble to mercy your opponents.

This song makes me want to ride wheels. Electric wheels, wheels with motors, two wheels, fuck it, four wheels. I`m thinking about it...
I`m spending all of Thursday listening to Os mutantes. for sure.

High quality secret society

Ah this is a cool Steinway from our visit to AC pianocraft in Queens, NYC, last year. I love the case. Doesn't it make you want to be mod?
Cat has eaten 20 tomato plant sprouts. I've been trying to grow them, and she's been eating them in the night and only leaves piles of dirt in the morning. I've been patient.
But now I'm going to punish her with what I've learned from the school of retro-parenting. Make her smoke a whole pack of cigarettes. Also mod.
I've been eating cheetos and listening to Deerhoof for two days. Played some sidewalk Tennis. Got another job (1+1=2).

The most rippin' piano

Re-post about this old Irish piano company. Sometimes I lose my mind and delete things that I think are cool. As I understand it, the pianos made at the Shannon factory are named Lindner, a subsidiary of Rippen.
So to re-cap.
In the 1960s Ireland had lots of unemployed, and the Irish government was looking for investments in order to create more jobs. Therefore they published a bill in which they declared that in Shannon, a small city nearby the local airport, foreign companies could achieve quite substantial tax reductions, if only this would led to a certain amount of jobs.
Rippen already was selling pianos in the USA, using the Thomas organ connection. But pianos are heavy, so shipment had to be done by boat, which made it necessary to take care of sea-packaging, and so on.
They had a brain-storm: if they could make a lightweight piano they could ship it by air. And if they produced it at Shannon the investment would be low and for a nice number of years the tax reductions would be profitable.
So they started the development of the "plastic piano". They used a frame of aluminium tubes welded together, and they replaced as much as possible of the wooden parts by plastic, and ended up with an instru- ment of only 75 kilos [165 pounds]. Since the keyboard could be turned downwards inside the chest, as in all Rippen pianos, they were able to ship two pianos almost in the space normally used by one. And they could send them everywhere, as long as an airplane could land.
The production of the Lindner piano began with founding a factory at Shannon, Ireland. Only the plastic parts were produced at Shannon; the normal parts were purchased from external suppliers, and Renner even developed a special mechanism. The main factory at Ede in the Netherlands supplied some parts as well.
Thank you

Hey paul, hang on, I want to come along
I try to make everything I say the last thing, but they keep coming out of my mouth. verbal hurricane diarrhea. calm and not.
I want to wish you well. Because I do have such a big feeling for you and I've always wished you well. So there it is, let it be so. done.
You know how people have phantom limbs? Mine is you.
I hear that phantom limbs, as time goes on, get distorted.
They disappear strangely too. If you lose an arm maybe at first you have the sensation of your whole arm and hand and fingers intact. And then later on you might just have an arm up to the elbow and then later than that, all you have is phantom hand stuck to your shoulder. and then it goes away. And all you have is an amputation.
I can't wait until it goes away. It haunts you. That's why they call it phantom and not just imaginary.
also this song is pretty cool, I like this band, all their songs make me want to have summer jams with fun teenagers.

Reggae do-wop
Honestly I`ve just been listening to Alton Ellis.
it`s the only reggae I like. Alton is like my rocksteady Otis Redding, a sweet lamenting voice, and small little horn sections that has become their M.O.

Shakespeare-san
This is my favorite Macbeth. The "three witches" is the scariest character I've met in a movie.
Kurosawa`s King Lear is my favorite King Lear. It's a long slow flick, just like all A.K movies, but it's like reading a comic book. Every single shot is perfect. Freeze any frame and tell me that ain't beautiful.
his Hamlet is my favorite Hamlet. Amusing corporate twist! original character clusterf*ck as usual.

savage claptrap
It's not my real name
wheeeeeeere is my baby. I want to take the train with you, and I want to take a walk with you. I want to be small in your arms. I want to sit in the sun with you, light cigarettes with a magnifying glass with you. Take up tennis this summer with you, watch bad movies and review them with you. Be one of the skate bitches on the sidelines for you. Bike to get water for you, share a taxi with you, go to atrocious concerts with you, cook dinner at 1am for you, drink to excess and sleep with you, argue the merits of various diets with you, show you the things I found. To meet your friends and family too and hope they like me so they're happy you're with me. I want to make collaborative art with you, collect driftwood and skip rocks with you. Climbs walls and kiss in the hall, find you across the room. where are you.
I'm sorry I didn't say the right things and made some poor choices. Didn't think it was so harmful

Come on, Come on, wind and rain
HAZAH! A long time ago in November, I locked my bike up near the subway station, two blocks away from the shop I worked at. It was sort of a shit bike. I just left my bike locked up there all day, every day, through the night. FOREVER. At the end of December, she was gone...good for her.
I got a new bike at christmas time, I was gone for weeks, my apartment flooded, I moved away, my baby is gone, the snow melted, and the sun came out just the other day. It's March.
And today, today I found her, locked up at the corner of Harbord and something, in between Linux cafe and Sam's coffee place. Just leaning up against the wall, getting a tan. The pedal is chipped, the back wheel is rusted, she's like a hundred in bike years.
I hate life, but I'm glad to see my old bike. Ta-DA I feel like dancing. So nice to see you, so nice to see you!
